In addition to Alden’s School of Leather Trades, Rogue River and the surrounding Rogue Valley offer an abundance of exciting and fun things to do. Come learn with us while you take a trip to Crater Lake National Park, the Oregon Caves National Monument, Ashland’s Shakespeare Festival, Jet boat trips or golfing, or simply enjoy world class fishing practically at our back door! Bring the family and they will have plenty to do! The school is located within an easy walk to restaurants. Italian, Mexican, café style dining, and pizza are all an easy walk from the school. Everything you need is within walking distance!

The historical town of Jacksonville is located less than 30 minutes from Alden’s School of Leather Trades. Jacksonville is one of the most historically significant communities in the western United States. Filled with historical landmarks, this town offers visitors an opportunity to share in the experience of a bygone era.

Only 1 hour away from Alden’s School of Leather Trades is Skiing at Mount Ashland, with 200 acres of varied skiing and riding terrain. Forty acres of trails are lit for night skiing.

Rogue Valley ZipLine Adventure is nestled in the hills of beautiful Southern Oregon, and the shuttle connection is only 10 minutes from Alden’s School of Leather Trades.  The Company provides Guided Zip Line tours and is Home of the longest zip line in the Pacific Northwest.

Located along the Rogue River just north of Gold Hill,(only 7 minutes from Alden’s School of Leather Trades) You will find Del Rio Vineyards. Del Rio Vineyards and Winery is the home of one of the largest vineyards in Southern Oregon. With over 200,000 vines the vineyard is producing a diverse selection of grape varieties. The historic tasting room was once home to the Rock Point hotel, originally built in 1864, the tasting room provides for a rustic and warm atmosphere while sipping wine.

Where to stay: Camp and play along the beautiful Rogue River made famous by novelist and avid fisherman Zane Grey!

Located less than half a mile away from Alden School of Leather Trades, and within easy walking distance, is Bridge View RV Park. They are located on the beautiful Rogue River, with 400 feet of river frontage! The resort is exceptionally clean and easy to access from I-5. Located less than 5 minutes from Alden School of Leather Trades is Valley of the Rogue Park. It has both a day-use picnic area and an overnight campground along three miles of shoreline on the Rogue River. An easy, self-guided interpretive walking trail provides a relaxing 1.25 mile stroll along the river’s edge.
