Creating the next generation of leather craftsman
We have developed this five day engraving class to focus on the fundamentals of western engraving. We will cover every step of the process: laying out and designing your scrolls; choosing the right tools; sharpening your gravers; and engraving your designs with a GRS pneumatic assist engraving system. Though the focus of the course will be on fundamental design and engraving techniques, there will also be time spent on basic metal forming. This class is taught by Tim Alden. We previously had Pat Horlacher teaching with us but he has been super busy building bits and keeping up with his own business and family. He still has a desire to teach but feels he will be most helpful to those that already have some experience. If you are already engraving and have spent plenty of time in the saddle feel free to reach out to him through social media, and if you are just starting out we would love to help you.
